Frequently Asked Questions

Where is River Road Estates?

Our neighborhood is located just south of the intersection at Farm Road 135 (Golden Ave) and Weaver Rd in Southwest Springfield.  The main entry into our community is from Golden Ave, turning east onto Nottingham St.  River Road Estates features 53 single-family homes on three main streets:  Nottingham, Aaron, and Cantebury.   See the map in "About Us."

What public schools serve the neighborhood?

Our neighborhood falls within the Springfield Public School District.  Student residents attend McBride Elementary School (across the street on Golden Ave), Wilson's Creek Intermediate School, Cherokee Middle School, and Kickapoo High School.

Are there Covenants or Restrictions applicable to River Road Estates?

Yes.  We have a Property Owners Association (POA) and all homeowners and residents are required to comply with the covenants, restrictions, dues, assessments, and liens, as provided for by our CC&Rs.  See these under the "Covenants" dropdown menu.

What are the annual POA dues?

The current annual assessment of dues for each homeowner is $250.  Bills are distributed by the POA Treasurer at the first of each year, and the dues must be paid by the deadline given. Delinquent homeowners will incur a $25 late charge for each month past the deadline, trash service suspension, and property liens in severe cases.

Funds provide for general maintenance and mowing of neighborhood common areas, some street snow removal, monthly trash service, signage, neighborhood activities, etc.

When does the trash service pick up?

Republic Services collects trash each week on Fridays, and they provide each home 1 large cart covered by your POA dues.  Yard waste and recycling carts are optional, and residents need to arrange and pay for those items directly with Republic Services.  Call 417-865-1717.

Note: Trash collection is delayed on these major holidays:  New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  Typically, holidays push the pickup schedule back one day with regular schedules resuming the following week.  If you are not receiving phone messages regarding changes, call the number above to make sure your contact info is associated with your account.

Who provides utilities and services street lights?

Gas = City Utilities of Springfield

Electricity = Ozark Electric Cooperative (CU if on the north side of Nottingham)

Water = PWSD #1 in Battlefield

Street Lights = Ozark Electric Cooperative (call and put in a maintenance order)

Are garage sales allowed?

Garage sales are permitted, but must be pre-approved by the POA Board.  Use "Contact Us."  Note:  We typically have a neighborhood-wide garage each year.  Look for an announcement on the "News" page.
